• This publication provides an overview and some examples of Thailand’s areas of expertise and development achievements (Volume 1), as well as providing and evidence-based resource mapping of national institutions in the country, called “Sources of Expertise for Thailand’s Best Practices in Development” (Volume 2). We also appreciate the efforts of the Kenan Institute Asia in collecting, analyzing and summarizing Thailand’s varied and extensive development experiences.

    One of the objectives of the STEP project is to assist in strengthening local governments by means of public participation through the process of a social capital-based development plan to create operational guidelines for the actual operators with the localities to make use of these tools and approaches with effectiveness and efficiency. The instrument is also strategically aimed at providing strength for local communities, inspiring each and every member to be able to stand on their own and continue developing regardless of upcoming incidents.

  • Handbook on Steps to a Sustainable Community Business Development

    ​The handbook, developed in corporation with the Faculty of Communication Science, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, presents community business initiatives and demonstrates comprehensive 11 steps (step by step) to achieve sustainable community business developments ranging from product/package development to community contributions, from suitable pricing strategy to market access/development, and from standard GMP to business management.

    This Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in Development Guideline (in Thai การลดความเสี่ยงจากภัยพิบัติสู่การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน) focuses on bridging DRR concepts with mainstream development initiatives as well as highlighting how DRR is relevant to specific development sector and providing examples on which activities within these line sectors constitute DRR.

    The Field Handbook on fact finding on human rights violations of women and children was developed in corporation the Cross Cultural Foundation (CrCF) as a guideline for paralegals and those working for legal aid organizations in the southern border provinces of Thailand to use as a tool to monitor human rights violations of women and children and address the issues.
