Thailand - National Actions Plan on Business and Human Rights

December 21, 2019

Since 2018, UNDP through the Business and Human Rights in Asia Project has been supporting the Royal Thai Government in a process led by the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection to draft the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights.

The Ministry of Justice collaborated with CSOs on the development of a baseline assessment to identify main gaps and priority areas for action.

UNDP supported the Department in holding some consultations in 2018 with different stakeholders including government agencies, international organizations, the public sector, civil society organizations, state enterprises and the business sector to receive feedback on the draft NAP.

Thailand’s National Actions Plan on Business and Human Rights was launched on December 16, 2019. It is also considered the first NAP in Asia and the pacific.
